Function Specific Activities:
The Manager, Sports Marketing is responsible for activation strategy across local partnerships in the NFL & NHL. The primary focus is to ensure activation plans are thorough, consistent with national strategic asset and brand strategies and are communicated clearly to our system. This includes in-venue activation consistent with Look of Success, building annual asset activation plans, both customer and market specific, and coordinating with local Ops and Sales teams.
This individual will also lead the internal approval site, SEMAS, as well as SharePoint administration, and help build tools for the National Sports Marketing Team.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
Develop toolkits to help Region Asset Managers manage and leverage all asset inventoryAdvise Region Marketing Organization on regional programs that incorporate the use of assets or inventoryAttends asset events as necessary to ensure activation executionAccountable for directing all creative activation work relevant to asset or market activationManages agencies to develop all local market asset activation to take projects concepts and partner approvalActs as subject matter expert to ensure all POS, packaging, coupons etc, protect the company's rights, trademarks and investment while serving the best interest of our customers and assetsDevelops program charters and manages project budgetsCompletes program post analysisBuilds capability for region use of Coke channel, Design Machine and KwikeeServes as activation lead
Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required
Related Work Experience:
4 or more years of experience, with focus on management of both national and local property relationshipsKnowledge of brand strategy and application across channels, including local marketingBudget responsibility and managementUnderstands the key drivers of brand health across entire portfolioKnowledge of key consumption occasions, shopper messaging, and methods of activationProven track record of achieving sustainable resultsAbility to develop adaptable project plans, allocate resources, identify potential issues/risks and develop contingency plans for stakeholders with different needs across a broad geography
Functional Skills:
National and local partnership strategy, activation & relationship managementKnowledge of Agency capabilitiesPlanning and organizing experience; execution bias for actionBrand architecture/positioningTM use, legal guidelines and Vis ID SMEMedia (tags, scripts, print ads, program ads)Brand Acumen - positioning, role, occasions, visionCollaboration (eg.
